I can’t start off a review of the Old San Juan Guesthouse (310 Guesthouse) without a discussion of its best feature, the location. The Old San Juan Guesthouse is located in a great location in San Juan (310 Street de San Francisco). It is in Old San Juan, and to make it even better, in a great location of the old town. Just outside the core of Old San Juan, the area is lively enough during the day (with reggaeton blasting from neighboring tiendas), but quiet enough to get a good nights rest. It is steps away from the Plaza de Armas to grab a coffee and enjoy the people watching in the morning. And, at the end of the night if you just want to grab a quick beer or snack, you are steps away from Café Guarionex. Café Guarionex is an underrated local bar where you can grab a beer, an empanada and listen to the blaring music. I closed most nights out there, with a few Medallas (a local beer) while staying in San Juan.
310 Guest House is situated between the piers and ferry docks where you can shop the food trucks and stands, Castillo San Crisotobal and for adventurers, La Perla; so take a walk in any direction and see the numerous faces of San Juan.
The interior is nicely decorated with a modern touch, but the architecture still hosts the old colonial feel. The rooms are small, so I’d suggest you get a room with a balcony. Large old wooden doors open to a balcony with a nice view of a plaza and some of the old buildings of Old San Juan. There is also a small kitchenet and a small washroom. At first, the prices may seem steep, but accommodations are generally on the pricey side in San Juan, so after doing my research, the Guesthouse was a fair price, especially for the location. Reasonably priced, this guest house is perfect for adventure travellers on a Puerto Rico budget.
